| Band members strive to attain the highest
level of musicianship during the school year. Membership is required and attained by
meeting the qualifying requirements on the basis of ability and instrumentation. Members
spend most of their time in “production work”. During the football season time
is devoted to preparing music and developing marching routines for presentation at
football games, parades, and festivals. After the football season, music fundamentals are
emphasized and expanded study of musical composition and musicianship is the focus.
Members may form smaller ensembles or chamber groups in order to promote individual
musical development or to meet the needs of the school and/or the community. |
