Diploma Options: Holy Cross High School offers two diploma options. Students can earn the Regular Diploma or the Advanced Diploma.

ADVANCED DIPLOMA WITH HONORS

A student receives the Advanced Diploma with Honors by satisfying the requirements for the Advanced Diploma earning a GPA of 91.0 or better; and never having had any semester failures.

HONORS CLASSES

Students may gain honors recognition in the following courses by earning a semester grade of 91.0 or better.  Honors courses are weighted 1.03 in determining a student's GPA.  (Transfer grades and credits are recorded as received but are given no additional weight.)

English Language Arts--------------English II. III, and IV

Foreign Language------------------Spanish II, III, and IV 

Science----------------------------Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

Mathematics-----------------------Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus

Theology---------------------------Theology II, III, and IV

Social Studies----------------------World Geography, U.S. History,                                                          Government and Economics

Fine Arts---------------------------Art, Graphic Design

Technology-------------------------Technology III, IV, and Web Mastering

Commentary

1. Quarter grades determine Honor Roll and eligibility, and they are not weighted.
2. Semester grades in the specified courses determine "Honors" recognition.     
3. GPA is determined by semester grades.
  
4. Courses earning "Honors" recognition are weighted at 1.03 in determining GPA.
 
5. GPA is cumulative.   
6. GPA determines class rank.   
7. GPA determines honors diploma designation.
