Financial Aid Information
Holy Cross of San Antonio is conscious of the financial encumbrance of Catholic school
tuition. Quality education is expensive. At the same time, the school realizes that steady
income, in the form of tuition, is essential for the school to remain open and viable.
This viability includes providing adequate textbooks, learning aids and teacher salaries,
all of which are costly. Holy Cross depends on tuition for the preponderance of its
income. Currently, the tuition is among the lowest in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The
school does offer two types of financial assistance for families. Each of these is
described below.
Academic Scholarships
Students who demonstrate strong academic potential through their scores on the Placement
Exam and 8th Grade Class Rank are awarded monetary scholarships for their freshman year if
they decide to attend Holy Cross. Students need not apply for these scholarships; the
school office will notify recipients in the spring.
Financial Need Awards
A limited number of families with extreme financial burdens are awarded tuition assistance
based on their need. Families need to apply for this aid by filling out the application
form and submitting the appropriate documentation. Families are notified in the summer
about tuition assistance granted. Many times tuition assistance will involve student work
outside of school hours in exchange for tuition reduction.
