Mission

The Mission of Holy Cross High School is the fulfillment of the education ministry of the Catholic Church and as its primary goal, the continuous formation of the Christian person. Since 1957, the aim of Holy Cross has been toward the individual’s spiritual, academic, social, and physical formation.

Holy Cross High School provides an education serving students for a lifetime. All spiritual, academic, and extracurricular endeavors share the Holy Cross goal of instilling values and traditions, thus preparing the Holy Cross student for the new millennium.

For the purpose of bringing quality, value–centered education to the West Side of San Antonio, Texas, Holy Cross High School opened its doors in 1957.  The product, its 3,500 alumni, is testimony to a philosophy instituted and implemented for over 175 years by the Congregation of Holy Cross which conducts Holy Cross High School.

In the tradition of Holy Cross, the school seeks to provide a life for the student that “...consists in the harmonious development of the whole man-his religious, intellectual, and physical powers.” Permeating this philosophy is the effort to provide a value–centered, broad, quality education – educational excellence which remains the hallmark of Holy Cross High School.
