Spiritual

Spiritual formation is integrated in the fourfold responsibility of proclaiming the message revealed by God in word and deed, of manifesting through worship an outward sign of Christianity, of building community through fulfilling the Gospel call to fellowship and social justice, and giving service to all persons through sharing spiritual and temporal goods with those in need.

Theological Studies: Holy Cross provides a comprehensive four-year program. Courses include: Holy Scripture, Church History, Faith Development, Social Justice, and Issues of Morality.

Liturgies: The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, prepared by students, focuses on cultural diversity, service, compassion, and school community.

Christian Service: Throughout the year students are called to live the Gospel by participating in community service projects helping their fellow man.

Mission Program: Students organize and contribute to various programs including the Holy Cross Mission Drive and Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Peer Ministry: Students, acting as Peer Ministers, offer close fellowship with their classmates for both educational and spiritual development.

“Our obligation as Christian educators is to provide a quality education intertwined with spiritual guidance and a strong moral foundation.”

Most Reverend Patrick F. Flores, D.D.
Archbishop of San Antonio

“The Holy Cross education is an education for young men who are in the process of becoming the leaders of the Church and country. Beyond this, Holy Cross makes best inwardly, each of the men it serves.”
Rene Escobedo
Campus Minister

“Christ Expects Great Things from Young People.”
Pope John Paul II
