2019-2020 Summer Reading

Welcome to the Holy Cross Summer Reading Book Club!
We are rolling out a new and improved summer reading list this year. Our goal is for students to engage in reading by choosing the book and genre that they like. We have 8 books for students to choose from; students will choose a book for June and a book for July. Students will engage with each other and with their faculty book leaders in discussions each week about their book. All of the book assignments will be in Google Classroom, which means that students can read their books and participate in discussions wherever they have access to a computer or a phone. When school begins, your student will be ready to participate in activities and discussions about what they read this summer! If you are a brand new student to Holy Cross, please click here for special instructions on how to get set up with Google Classroom.
During the last week of school, we will help students sign up for the books they want to read. They may choose books from the high school or middle school sections, and they may choose books from different genres. Please note that class size is limited for each book; when one book selection fills, we will email the students and encourage them to make a different selection. Students may purchase books from any location or they may check them out of your local library.
