At the Heart of a Holy Cross Education

Christian service is an integral part of a Holy Cross education. As is mentioned in the section on "Shared Vision" in the Holy Cross of San Antonio Handbook:

"A Holy Cross education is a process which.... Finds its best expression as service to others rendered by those with hope to bring...."

True to this vision, it only took Blessed Father Basile Moreau a few years after founding the Congregation of Holy Cross in France to send brothers and priests to serve in Asia, Africa, and North America. Consequently, Catholic social justice through Christian Service has always been a hallmark of a Holy Cross education. This tradition of serving others by bringing about the hope of Christ has lead all Holy Cross schools to set a graduation requirement of its students to perform Christian service.
