Since 2000, the Holy Cross Pop Warner cheerleading and dance teams have qualified squads to compete in Florida for the national championships.
"Holy Cross is committed to making our athletic facilities available to the community through partnerships such as the one we have with the Holy Cross Pop Warner Program," said Brother Stanley Culotta, C.S.C., M.D., president of Holy Cross of San Antonio.
"The idea is to raise the necessary funds in order to expand the use of the undeveloped plot of land behind the school and to create a new girls softball field, and soccer practice field," said Brother Culotta. "Our goal is to raise $2.7 million in order to cover the cost."
Annually, 250 youth ranging from ages 5 – 16 years old participate in the youth football, cheer and dance programs on the city's west side.
Holy Cross of San Antonio is a Catholic co-education middle and high school (grades 6-12) that has been serving the west and south side community of San Antonio since 1957. The Brothers of Holy Cross founded the school as a college preparatory school steeped in tradition and education.
