Jason Fuller
We welcomed Jason Fuller to the Holy Cross family as a freshman and he quickly made a lasting impression on our campus. As a Knight, Jason's commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and service within the community has earned him the distinction of becoming the Holy Cross Class of 2022's Valedictorian. During his time here, Jason has embodied all of the characteristics of a Holy Cross student, and through his actions, has become an exceptional role model for his community. He has served as a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Holy Cross DASA Academic Team, Speech and Debate, Campus Ministry Team, Robotics Team, and Math Club. Jason's leadership also earned him the honor of being a Holy Cross Student Knight Ambassador for two consecutive years. He participated in the Dual Credit Program with Our Lady of the Lake University and successfully completed Advanced Placement and Honors courses here at Holy Cross. His ambition, strong work ethic, and dedication have paved the way to all of his successes, and we could not be more proud of him. Naomi Ramirez joined our Holy Cross family at the start of her freshman year. We welcomed Paloma Escobedo to Holy Cross as an eighth grader and we could not be more impressed with the contributions she has made to our community. From day one, Paloma showed a commitment to achieving academic excellence and in becoming a positive role model on campus. She exhibited this best through her participation in the Dual Credit Program with Our Lady of the Lake University and in successfully completing both Advanced Placement and Honors courses here at Holy Cross. While she placed academics as a priority, her leadership and commitment to serving the community is what has set her apart from her peers. As a Knight, Paloma has served as a member of the National Honor Society, Campus Ministry Team, Holy Cross DASA Academic Team, Robotics Team, Math Club, Art Club, and Thespian Honor Society. As a student-athlete, she dedicated her time to being a member of the soccer, track, and cross country teams. Abigail Martinez
Abigail Martinez joined our Holy Cross family at the start of her freshman year. As a Knight, she welcomed every opportunity to challenge herself academically, knowing this would create a strong foundation for her future. For Abigail, this meant that she would participate in the Dual Credit Program with Our Lady of the Lake University and successfully complete Advanced Placement and Honors courses here at Holy Cross. When we speak of Abigail, she became a leader among her peers, which earned her the role as National Honor Society Secretary and earned her a membership in the Holy Cross Student Council. We recognized her ongoing commitment to achieving excellence in all aspects of her education here at Holy Cross and in the greater community. Abigail was named the 2021-2022 recipient of LCpl. Mark David Juarez Scholarship, and was recognized as a Moreau, Dujarie, Blue & Gold Scholar, and Spes Unica Scholar, in addition to receiving many academic awards during her time here at Holy Cross. Her service to Holy Cross and dedication to becoming a positive role model within the community extended to her membership in the National Honor Society of High School Scholars. Juan Carlos Escamilla
Juan Carlos Escamilla joined our Holy Cross family as a freshman and quickly embraced the Holy Cross family spirit and community. When we speak of JC, he has placed his academics above all things and pursued every academic opportunity that would lead him to a promising and successful future. He participated in the Dual Credit Program with Our Lady of the Lake University and excelled in both Advanced Placement and Honors courses here at Holy Cross. Through his strong academics, service, and leadership within the campus community, he earned a membership in our National Honor Society, Holy Cross DASA Academic Team, Thespian Honor Society, and Student Council. His involvement on campus continued through his participation in the Campus Ministry Team, Band, Drumline, Math Club, Spanish Club, and the tennis team. JC was recognized for his academic achievements throughout his four years here which included earning 7th Place in History as part of the DASA Academic Team for TAPPS, was named a Holy Cross Scholar Knight, and received Top Honors Awards in Math, History, Science, and Film History Classes. Marissa Rodriguez
We welcomed Marissa Rodriguez to our Holy Cross family as a sixth grader. During her time here, Marissa's commitment to her Holy Cross education became the driving force of all of her successes. Academically, Marissa participated in the Dual Credit Program with Our Lady of the Lake University and excelled in Advanced Placement and Honors courses here at school. Marissa's dedication to serving as a leader in the campus community earned her a membership in the National Junior Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Student Council. As a student-athlete, Marissa played an active role in helping our Holy Cross Cheer Team secure the 2021-2022 TAPPS State Cheer Championship and is a three time NCA National Champion, making this year's 15th title possible! For her contributions to Cheer, she received 1st Team All State Award, Cheerleader of the Year, Best Motions Award, and the Beauty Brawn and Brains Award. In addition to Cheer, she was an active member of the Softball, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, and Track teams. For Softball, she was a three time District Champion, Area Champion, Regional Champion, and State Champion, along with being a two time Regional Qualifier in Track. As a result of Marissa's achievements in both academics and athletics here at Holy Cross, she was selected as a recipient of the Valero Alamo Bowl Student-Athlete Scholarship. We were delighted to welcome David Escobedo to our Holy Cross family as a sophomore. As a Knight, he has shown us time and time again what dedication, leadership, and a strong work ethic truly means. During his time here, he made a commitment to challenge himself academically, and this meant he would participate in the Dual Credit Program with Our Lady of the Lake University, in addition to successfully completing Advanced Placement and Honors courses here at Holy Cross. David’s leadership on campus earned him the role of Co-President of the Holy Cross Student Council, Vice President of the Holy Cross Thespian Honor Society, Vice President of the Math Club, and was a member of the Holy Cross National Honor Society, DASA Academic Team, Campus and Music Ministry, Spanish Club, Robotics Team, and College and Career Club. David’s commitment on campus also included him serving as a Holy Cross Student Knight Ambassador and a Eucharistic Minister. Emma Garza
We welcomed Emma Garza to our Holy Cross family at the start of her freshman year and have enjoyed seeing her grow during her time as a Knight. From the beginning, Emma made a commitment to challenging herself both academically and athletically. Her participation in the Dual Credit Program with Our Lady of the Lake University and her successful completion of both Advanced Placement and Honors courses here at school was proof of that commitment. While achieving academic excellence across all subjects, she also became an active member of the Robotics Team and Art Club. As a student-athlete, Emma was a member of the volleyball and soccer teams, and served as softball manager during her freshman and sophomore year. Emma exemplified the qualities of a leader by volunteering at the San Antonio Food Bank, Haven for Hope, and serving as a Holy Cross Student Knight Ambassador in her senior year.
Her academic successes qualified her to receive Spes Unica Awards during her time here and also earned her a membership in the Holy Cross National Honor Society. Zachary Corona
Zachary Corona joined our Holy Cross family as a sixth grader and we were quickly impressed with his strong work ethic and leadership in the community. As a Knight, Zach showed a dedication to both academics and extracurricular activities, knowing this would create a well-rounded experience for him here at Holy Cross. Academically, he participated in the Dual Credit Program at Our Lady of the Lake University and successfully completed Advanced Placement and Honors courses here at school. Zach was recognized for his academic achievements throughout high school, earning him the following awards: Blue and Gold Scholar freshman and senior year, Dujarie Scholar senior year, and Outstanding Academic Performance in class subjects from freshman to senior year. As a student-athlete, he was an active member in cross country, track, and bowling. He received 3rd and 4th place in TAPPS for long distance track events - 800 meter and 400 meter. Zach’s strong academics and involvement on campus earned him a membership in the National Honor Society, Thespian Honor Society, Holy Cross Student Council, DASA Academic Team, Campus Ministry, Music Ministry, Holy Cross Newspaper, and College & Career Club. His recognitions in Theater included Honorable Mention for his performance in 12 Angry Jurors, 5th in State for Duet Acting, and 3rd and 4th Place in Current Events Test Taking as part of the DASA Academic Team. Amanda Cabrera
We were delighted to welcome Amanda Cabrera to our Holy Cross family as a freshman. Academically, she excelled in both Advanced Placement and Honors courses here at school, all while serving as an active member and leader of the Holy Cross Cheer Team. Pablo Hernandez
We welcomed Pablo Hernandez to our Holy Cross family as a freshman and we could not be more impressed with his leadership, service, and academic commitment over these four years. As a Knight, Pablo demonstrated academic excellence through his participation in the Dual Credit Program with Our Lady of the Lake University and in successfully completing both Advanced Placement and Honors courses here at Holy Cross. His leadership earned him a membership in the National Honor Society, Holy Cross Student Council, Thespian Honor Society, DASA Academic Team, and the honor of being a Holy Cross Student Knight Ambassador. As an active participant in Theatre at Holy Cross, this year he earned the title of President of Thespian Society. Pablo was also a member of the Robotics Team, College & Career Club, Spanish Club, Math Club, Stock Market Education. During his time here, Pablo received many awards in Theatre to include Best Thespian (20-21), TAPPS Honorable Mention in One-Act Play (20-21), All-Star TAPPS in Cast One Act Play (21-22), 6th Place in Duet Acting (21-22), and TAPPS 3rd Place Textile Design (21-22). Athletically, Pablo was an active member of the soccer, cross country, tennis, bowling, football, and track and field teams. He earned the title of Soccer Team Captain from 2018-2022, Cross Country Team Captain in 2021, and received the Athletic W.I.T. Award in 2019. Katherine Read joined our Holy Cross family in the seventh grade. As a Knight, Katherine achieved academic excellence and showed us that a strong work ethic would bring her goals to fruition. During her time here, Katherine received an award for her academic performance in Theology and Social Sciences. In his tenure as a Holy Cross Knight, Jaden Lopez impressed us with his strong work ethic, service, and drive for success. As a Knight, Jaden demonstrated a commitment to his studies and athletics while successfully balancing all of the responsibilities that came along with being a student-athlete. His discipline and success in track alone earned him recognition in TAPPS as a 3rd Place Medalist 4x4 in 2020, 2nd Place Medalist 4x4 this year, and is a two year back to back W.I.T. Award recipient. Juliet Padilla
We were delighted to welcome Juliet Padilla to our Holy Cross family as a sixth grader. We soon learned just how dedicated she was to her studies and to being a positive role model for her peers. Academically, Juliet participated in the Dual Credit Program with Our Lady of the Lake University and successfully completed both Advanced Placement and Honors courses here at Holy Cross. As a student-athlete, she became an active member on the Holy Cross track and cheer teams. In cheer, she helped the team secure the 2021-2022 TAPPS State Championship! This accomplishment alone earned her the title of being a two time TAPPS State Champion. Juliet's leadership on the team also led to this year's 15th NCA National Championship title, making her a four time NCA National Champion. Her contributions to the Cheer team earned her a two time 1st team All-State and Stunt Award. During her time here, Juliet also received the W.I.T award for her ongoing commitment, leadership, and grit. Juliet's motivation throughout the years stemmed from her commitment to serving the community and in building a strong foundation for her future.
