Financial Support
At Holy Cross of San Antonio, we believe every student deserves access to a high-quality, faith-based education. We are committed to making that opportunity affordable through a variety of scholarships and tuition assistance programs. Whether based on academic merit, financial need, or community involvement, our support options are designed to help families achieve their educational goals.
Discounts
- Alumni Discount: Students of Alumni can receive a $500 discount towards tuition. This discount is renewable based on the student's good standing during the school year.
- Paid in Full: If tuition is paid in full by the first Friday in August, a 3% discount will be applied.
- Sibling Discount: Parents/Guardians with more than one student at Holy Cross will receive a $500 discount per sibling after the 1st child.
- Service Discount: Parents who work at a Catholic School or Catholic University are eligible for a 25% Service Scholarship Discount. This discount may not be used in conjunction with Holy Cross Tuition Assistance.
Scholarships
Brother Rene Lenhard, CSC Scholarship
Valedictorian or Salutatorian Scholarship – $4,000 ($1000/year x 4 years)
This automatic four-year renewable scholarship is awarded to incoming 9th-grade students recognized as Valedictorian or Salutatorian on their 8th-grade transcript. The award honors students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. To renew the scholarship each year, students must maintain a final GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Brother William May, CSC Scholarship
Admissions New Freshman Scholarship – $500-$2,000
Incoming freshmen who demonstrate strong academic potential may qualify for this one-time, non-renewable scholarship. To be considered, students must submit grades and standardized test scores with their admissions application. Award amounts range from $500–$2,000, and recipients will be notified in the spring.
Brother William Dooling, CSC Endowed Scholarship
For Current Holy Cross Students
This scholarship honors students who exemplify the values and mission of Holy Cross. Recipients are actively involved in the school community, using their gifts and talents to serve others and strengthen the spirit of Holy Cross of San Antonio.
Brother Daniel Durig, CSC Scholarship
For Current Holy Cross Students
The scholarship recognizes five current Holy Cross students who embody the true spirit and values of a Holy Cross Knight. Recipients are actively involved in both their school and parish communities and serve as outstanding examples of faith, service, and leadership. This scholarship is renewable annually if the criteria continue to be met. Students are nominated by faculty and staff. Awards are presented during the school year.
Gabriel ’72 and Zonia Leadership Scholarship
For Current Holy Cross 8th Graders – $1,000 (2 recipients selected)
This scholarship is open to all current 8th-grade students at Holy Cross who demonstrate strong leadership qualities through their involvement in extracurricular activities and contributions to the school community. An essay is required as part of the application. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship applied toward their freshman year tuition at Holy Cross. External Scholarships
Catholic Daughters of the Americas National Scholarship
Open to any 8th-grade student entering 9th-grade (boys and girls). Please see the attached application form here. Deadline to Apply: April 1, 2025.
Tuition Assistance
Hope for the Future
Hope for the Future is a tuition assistance program for families in San Antonio and the outlying communities seeking a faith-filled and rigorous academic education for their child or children at one of the Archdiocese of San Antonio Catholic schools. The Archdiocese of San Antonio requires an annual application to receive Hope for the Future. Partial financial assistance is awarded to families based on service to the school and financial needs.
New Dates & Requirements for 2025-2026:
- Early Verification: Apply by January 31, 2025 > Award date of March 7, 2025 (2023 tax Information)
- Regular Verification: Begins February 1, 2025 > Award date of May 9, 2025 (2024 tax Information)
- Summer Verification: Applications are still open (2024 tax Information)
426 Tuition Assistance
Once the Hope for the Future application is submitted, families can apply for Holy Cross Tuition Assistance by completing the online application. Applications have closed for the 2025-2026 school year.
Self-Assist Options
Catholic Life Sweepstakes
This is an opportunity for families to offset their financial obligations by selling raffle tickets. Tickets are available from August 2025 to December 2025.

90% of raffle tickets sold will go towards your child’s school tuition.

Parents may also designate which month’s tuition payment they wish to apply the credit to, with ample notification time allowed.
Refer-a-Friend Program
Any current family who refers a friend to Holy Cross will receive a $1,000 credit toward their child’s tuition. This credit will be given for EACH new family referred to Holy Cross who enrolls.

New students must indicate the referring friend’s name (current student or family name) on the admissions application. No additions after the application has been submitted.

New student credit will be applied as follows: $500 in December for first-semester enrollment and $500 in April for second-semester enrollment, provided the new student remains enrolled and in good standing at the time of issue.

If a new student is unenrolled before the end of the semester, the credit will not be applied.

This discount may not be used in conjunction with Holy Cross Tuition Assistance, which will result in exceeding 25% of the actual cost.
